The
cheers
Project

India is one of the world's biggest markets for alcohol. It’s looking at a growth rate (CAGR) of 8.1% during 2023-2028.But it doesn’t have its own ‘toast’.

Idea: Crowdsource a toast for India, of India,by Indians in India and all over the world.

Execution: Indians all over the world can nominate an expression, phrase, or word they think should be India's official toast. The 'nominations' will be put to vote on a global scale in true democratic style. The ‘TOAST’ that receives the most number of likes, shares, comments or VOTES will win.

And become the world’s largest democracy’s very first, very own toast.

A TOAST TO INDIA

The Germans have one. And the French.  And the Italians. And the Scandinavians. And the Japanese, and the Hungarians, and the Bulgarians, and the Romanians, Americans, Australians, Irish, Scottish, Brazilians, Argentines, Russians, Spanish, even the Chinese have one. It’s embarrassing that India, the world’s largest democracy, the fastest growing alcohol market in the world, copied it from the English.
Just because they say 'cheers', we should too?

We gave the world: zero, Yoga, the USB stick, chess, Jodhpuris, snakes and ladders, hotmail. Why can’t we give ourselves a toast, an original Indian expression to raise our glasses to the amazing, magical, traditional, things that happen to 1.3 billion people every day. Why can't we create our own domestic ode to celebrate the medals we will win at the Olympics, the next big Indian idea, our 14th mission to Mars, our best friends wedding, or the countless crisp, refreshing moments we raise our glasses to?

We can, and we will.
