Blood for blood

There is currently a global emergency blood shortage. The worldwide demand for blood is approximately 305 million units, but only about 272 million units were available as of 2017. This gap highlights the disparities in blood availability, particularly between high-income and low-income regions with the American Red Cross experiencing the lowest number of blood donors in 20 years. The New York Blood Center reported a 25% drop in donations, creating a critical shortage. Only about 3% of age-eligible people donate blood yearly, which often leads to supply not meeting demand. Blood and platelets cannot be manufactured; they can only come from volunteer donors

We will create a magic algorithm for Netflix that calculates the amount of fake blood used in its original productions and help to procure an equivalent amount of real blood for hospitals and blood banks worldwide.

How the algorithm works:
The magic algorithm" will collate available information from Netflix shows and movies to make reasonable assumptions as follows:

  1. Episode count: Dexter ran for 8 seasons plus a limited series, totalling about 96 episodes.

  2. Average blood scenes per episode: Let's assume an average of 3 significant blood scenes per episode.

  3. Blood volume per scene: Estimate an average of 2 liters of fake blood per significant scene (this could vary greatly, but it's a starting point).

  4. Calculation: 96 episodes * 3 scenes/episode * 2 liters/scene = 576 liters

  5. Adjustment factor: To account for variations in scene intensity, reshoots, and other factors, we could apply a multiplier of 1.5.

Final estimate: 576 * 1.5 = 864 liters of fake blood. So just with Dexter Netflix could help generate 864 liters of blood donations.

Key Components:

  1. Data Collection: Collaborate with production teams to track fake blood usage across Netflix originals.

  2. Calculation Algorithm: Develop a magic algorithm to estimate total fake blood based on episodes, genre, and special effects.

  3. Blood Donation Partnerships: Partner with blood donation organizations to facilitate real blood collection equivalent to the calculated amount.

  4. Interactive Viewer Experience: Create a feature showing how much "blood" each show contributes to the donation pool.

  5. A social media campaign to take our message to the world.

This initiative could help educate the public about the importance of blood donation and potentially inspire more people to become donors and help save lives.
